And now click thru to watch the MLB tape.
Just watch that pitch from Wainwright. Rewind and watch it again.
(I’m done now.)
P.S. Can the Budweiser Select logo be in a more perfect place?
Let’s watch that last strike from the fan’s perspective.
(You guys brought up 2006, don’t expect me to just sit back and let this opportunity go by.)
Against the Brewers on Friday night, Wainwright threw a complete game shutout on two hits for his first career shutout. Despite taking 97 major league starts before his first, we should start expecting more of these. After all, he’s very good at baseball. Here’s some evidence:
- ERA is now 2.05.
- Ken Macha on Wainwright’s performance: “We’ve been shut out a few times but that’s the best pitching performance we’ve seen all year. That curveball was so good.”
- Wainwright has gone at least six innings in all 12 outings this season.
- Just a little thing, but he did finish third in the Cy Young balloting last season.
- He seems like a nice guy.
Yep. Taken all together and I think we’ll be watching a few more complete games soon.
Yes.

And that’s a winner! Wainwright goes to 3-0, pitching an entire game like we all wanted him to.
Cardinals beat the Mets 5-3!
