Watch it live. Rumor has it Mark will not be making an appearance.
Do they still make hats in that large a size?
This is a lot for one day, let alone one post.
The Cardinals will announce at a Monday morning press conference Tony La Russa’s decision to return for a 15th season as manager. Today’s run-up, however, features mounting evidence that La Russa’s return after a 2-week deliberation will be dwarfed by former Redbirds first baseman Mark McGwire’s return from a self-imposed 8-year exile to become the team’s hitting coach.
Twitter can be a fantastic tool for breaking news, and this may be one of those cases.
Brian McRae posted the following on Twitter, and then pulled it shortly after, but not before several re-tweeted the news:
My dad is out as Cards hitting coach (Hal McRae)…..McGwire is in! (as in Mark)-fire it up boys/girls
ESPNewsService is backing the rumor on Twitter. The only tweet left standing by Brian McRae simply reads, “Good 5yr. run with the Redbirds,” yet another reference to his father Hal’s tenure with the Cardinals.
No word out at this point from the Cardinals, but don’t think many aren’t hanging wondering whether Mark McGwire moves out from the shadows to become the new hitting coach of the St. Louis Cardinals. Stay tuned.
That’s interesting.
