Rick Ankiel's Mustache
I have given my heart and soul to coaching college football and mentoring young men for the last 24-plus years and I have dedicated most of my waking moments the last five years to the Gator football program I have ignored my health for years, but recent developments have forced me to reevaluate my priorities of faith and family. “After consulting with my family, Dr. Machen, Jeremy Foley and my doctors, I believe it is in my best interest to step aside and focus on my health and family.

Roll Tide!

I hope I don’t have to hear the phrase “After further review…” again in this game.

First, let’s get something out of the way.  Nick Saban and the rest of Alabama, I really hate you.  I despise you and your longstanding football tradition.
However, I need you today.  I need you to beat Tim Tebow.  It doesn’t have to be a blow out.  It could be an ugly game that comes down to the last field goal.  But I need you to win today.  Please.  I don’t ask for much.
I’ll even put on my Roll Tide shirt that I had to wear when you beat Arkansas and I lost a bet.  I’ll do whatever. you. want.
Go Bama!

Mullen said it’s understandable if a field official makes a mistake because of the speed of the game, but the replay official can take his time and should be held accountable.

Linebacker Dustin Doe scored a touchdown after returning an interception in the fourth quarter, putting the Gators up 29-13. Replays appeared to show Brandon McRae stripped the ball from the celebrating linebacker short of the goal line.

Mississippi State ended up losing the game 29-19, but going into that last drive the score should have only been 22-19.  Being down a field goal would have kept the offense going as opposed to the defeated attitude they played with during the last minute.  This is two games in a row for Florida in which blown calls potentially changed the outcome of the game.

When ESPN replayed the alleged touchdown last night it was pretty obvious that the ball was not in possession when Florida crossed the endzone, but there may have been some room for discussion.  However, not 5 seconds after the replay official allows the touchdown, ESPN shows a still photo of the moment the endzone was crossed and the ball was not seen dropping to the ground.  I’ve learned a little bit about MLB replay this past season, but I’m unsure of how it works for NCAA and ESPN.  Is ESPN or NCAA controlling those replay feeds?  I don’t know, but it would be an interesting question to ask.  I think for regulatory purposes it would have to be NCAA, but the feed has to come from some one be it ESPN, CBS, ABC, etc.

Arkansas played like mad bastards, especially Dennis Johnson the rolling water buffalo on rails, last seen bowling through the entire Florida defense, and wideout Greg Childs.

Before yesterday, Tim Tebow had been sacked four times this season.  Arkansas gladly more than doubled that number and took Tebow down six times during last night’s game.

I loved every one of them.

I’m not one to bitch and moan and lay blame, but everyone watching this game tonight knew there were some questionable calls.
Makes the point that even with reviews and replays, the game is still in the hands of the refs.
Let me add that Arkansas missed way too many opportunities tonight.  You can’t win a game with that many turnovers and not convert them to points.

Well played, defense. Well played.

Now if Sportscenter or anyone else in the ridiculous sports media would point out the fact that Florida looked like shit tonight and that Arkansas actually won this game, I would be happy.

Game Day! Go Hogs!

I know some all of you are thinking that Arkansas doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell today against the Gators, but I have faith that this could be a good game.  If our offensive line can give Mallett some time and our defense shows up today, it could be interesting.  It might not, but it could be.

OU / Texas is showing to be a decent match-up this morning, but Bradford is already out of the game it seems with his shoulder injury.

Everyone have a wonderful day of football or whatever it is other people do on Saturday.  Let’s hope it ends with Tim Tebow crying at the press conference and writing another Ten Commandments.
