This is just pathetic on Gawker/Deadspin’s part. It isn’t the first time that live chats have completely failed over there and turned something that is supposed to be good for both the guest and for the site into a complete clusterfuck.
Who had the bright idea of using a comment system for a live chat anyway? Horrible idea! It isn’t the same function, don’t use the same tool. It’s like using a blender to mow the lawn.
And ya know, we may not have a lot of fancy traffic around here but atleast these live chats don’t look like a freaking mess. (Much love to the nine of you that do show up, though!)
Thanks Everyone!
It was a slow game, but we had a total of 20 readers today in the chat. Some participating, most not. (stop lurking!) Anthony from Hot Foot stopped by and brought a few Mets fans. Nothing wrong with friendly rivals. You can read the replay here. None of us had audio or video, so things were pretty casual.
We’ll do it again soon. (Never again while I’m trying to work.) If you have any suggestion, comments or questions I’d love to hear them.
And yeah, we lost 7-3.
It’s Friday - Let’s Have Some Fun
I’m going to post the live chat box here in a few minutes right before the game starts (1pm EST). I will have to actually do some work today so I won’t be moderating comments or even participating too much, but those of you who aren’t in the corporate world, or feel like sticking it to the man and watching baseball online today can chat during the game.
We invite our fellow Mets fans, but please play nicely. If anyone starts being a jackass let me know and I’ll come in and block them.
I have no idea what the outcome of this will be. It may be an empty room with crickets chirping but at least it’s a start.
Feel free to reblog once it’s posted.
What do you think?
