Pirates GM on Rick Ankiel |
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that they’ll be looking into Rick Ankiel this winter along with a handful of other free agents.
As much as I would hate to see him go, I’m really surprised we’ve gotten this far this season.
The funnier part of this is some of the Pittsburgh Pirate message boards:
“I want no part of Ankiel. Something about him screams HGH to me. I think his best years have ended.”
Really? HGH - You’re doing it wrong.

I think that just about sums up my feelings on last night.
Skip Schumaker had a big offensive day for the Cardinals. Schumaker tripled in the first inning, scoring on a Pujols sac fly, then singled in the third, singled and scored in the fifth and walked in the sixth.
St. Louis won its second consecutive game after a three-game losing streak to improve to 19-10 on the year, the second-best record in the National League.

Hopefully the Cards can get everything back in order tonight at Busch against the Pirates. Leave the last two losses on the field and move forward again. But, the Pirates are frustrated with losses as well and will be looking to end their on the road losing streak.
